Hungary: General Information
The Republic of Hungary, situated in Central Europe, is a completely landlocked country sharing borders with the Slovak Republic, Ukraine, Romania, Croatia, Serbia, Austria and Slovenia. For those in search of the heart and soul of Europe, Hungary, with its distinctive charms, hospitable people and all the luxury of Western, is the ideal choice. Infused with memories and history, the country proudly upholds its Magyar traditions, culture and arts.

Originally inhabited by the Magyars, an equestrian nomadic tribe, Hungary has had numerous dynastic changes- from conversion to Christianity to Turkish occupation to the era of Communism - rulers came and went and empires rose and fell, and today quaint little towns, cities and ruins in the countryside bear the marks of this turbulent history with a rich mosaic of architectural styles and fortified hilltop castles. The Hungarian people, neither Slavic nor Germanic, are a flexible and resilient race, formal, reserved and intensely proud of their ancient nation.

Its Baroque towns with ornate buildings, rustic villages with intricate folk art, majestic plains, resort-lined lakes, horse markets, famous healing thermal spas and rich wines are just some of the country's many highlights awaiting discovery.
